About Me and My Wellness Journey

A Coloradan since age five, I love all things outdoors, including running, hiking, camping, and snowshoeing. I have also enjoyed swimming and running competitively well into my adult life. I graduated from Metropolitan State University in 2010 where I studied Public Address and Rhetoric with a minor in Legal Studies. Then, whether by luck or destiny, I met my husband Dave in 2013 on St. Patrick’s Day and feel blessed to have such an incredibly supportive partner and a wonderful father to our two children.

In 2018, shortly having my daughter, I started experiencing anxiety and insomnia. Sometimes I would go days and even weeks without sleeping more than 1-2 hours, and spent many nights fighting through panic, loneliness, and mental disruption. I sought out medical care only to find doctors and therapists who did not have the time nor the knowledge to help determine the root cause of my struggles and I was left discouraged. After going on and off various anti-anxiety and sleep medications and in and out of various doctor’s offices, in 2020 I decided to take my health into my own hands and pursued a certification as a Holistic Nutritionist and Health Coach. Through this endeavor, I was able to gain not only a better understanding around how to support my health on a holistic level but also discovered a deep-rooted passion and desire to support others on their own health journey.

As far as my yoga practice goes, while I have enjoyed participating in yoga of various styles for over 20 years, it wasn’t until shortly after having my son in 2021 that I began exploring the idea of teaching kids yoga. After witnessing the incredible health benefits kids yoga had on my own children, I decided to pursue a certification to teach others.

My Inspiration

The wellbeing of my family and my community is a vital part of my “why” and for whom I strive to be a role model of balance, body positivity, and true health. Additionally, I have experienced a deep realization that I am worthy of health and wholeness and cannot be a complete mother, wife, or friend without also dedicating myself to this wellness journey.

My Wellness Philosophy

My goal through my wellness practice is to provide information and resources on the healing powers of food and various wellness modalities, to encourage self-love and positive body image, and to help you along your journey to feeling your best-self. I strive to create a judgement-free community. A place where we are not defined by the food that we eat, the movements we make, nor the products with which we surround ourselves but a place where we feel free and where we feel safe. Through my wellness practice and community, it is my desire to have Laughing Hart Wellness speak to every single audience. I believe that every person is seeking wellness and are striving to better themselves in their own way. I’m here to connect you with reliable information and the best resources for your individual path.

My brand speaks to both my past (EberHART) and my present (McLAUGHlin) because true wellness is about finding a connection between the two and carrying lessons with you. I seek a balance between mind, body, and spirit but allow plenty of room for practicality, forgiveness, exploration, sustainability, and LOVE.
